This model railway layout in HO gauge was made by Maciej Lukaszewicz from Poland. His layout is representing the old steam train and steam locomotive depot in Białogard, the most important railroad junction of the Middle Pomerania. Białogard became part of the German Empire in 1871. After World War II, it became part of Poland. The model railway layout presents the historic railway era, including the genuine Reichsbahn atmosphere around the year 1930.
Then, the locomotive depot was located in Eastern Pomerania. Born in Poland, the model builder Maciej Lukaszewicz decided to build a German layout because he has got a detailed and excellent knowledge of technical German railway history. So the “Steam Locomotive Depot in World War II” is a very fine example of model making handicraft, including historic locomotives and rolling stock. There are perfectly modelled engine sheds, service buildings, and the large turntable. The size of the model railway layout is about 5.0 meters x 2.0 meters.
