In 2014, Pilentum visited a model train exhibit in Germany. There was a very large modular model railroad layout built in HO scale. There are a little nudist beach, a trolleybus museum, a great central station and a small city edge model train layout with a scale model of the famous Wuppertal Monorail. And, there are model cars and vehicles from the Faller Car System, too. This modular model train layout was built by a railway club in Germany, called Modulbaufreunde Ladenburg.
In 1989, some model railroaders joined together for founding this model railroad club. Today, almost 25 years later, there are 50 members, and they develop modules for model railroading. The club has got one of the largest portable model railroad systems in Germany. They always built at 1/87 scale. Model trains are running either in two or in three wire operation with analog or digital control. Inside club room, there are nearly 168 individual modules. Regularly, the model railroaders present their model train layouts at model train exhibitions. So in 2014, when Pilentum could visit a variety of these model train modules.
